Why D3X vs. typical D3 + K2

Three questions
Every order includes a printed guide on how and when to take it.
Why vitamin D3 in olive oil?
Vitamin D is fat-soluble. Your body absorbs it along with fat, not water. In a Tufts study, peak vitamin D3 absorption was 32% higher when the dose was taken with a meal containing fat than with a fat-free meal.
So D3X comes already dissolved in organic, cold-pressed olive oil, and there's fat in every dose, even with black coffee. We chose olive oil over the MCT, sunflower or safflower oil that's typical in D3 + K2 because it's a real food you already know. The amber glass bottle shields it from light.
Why olive oil, not MCT or seed oils →Liquid D3 + K2 drops or capsules?
We think drops, for three reasons:
- Absorption. In a head-to-head study of 70 adults, a vitamin D3 oral solution reached a higher peak and greater total absorption than the same dose as a capsule or a tablet.
- Fewer ingredients. Capsules need a shell, tablets need binders and flow agents, and gummies usually add sugar and leave out the fat. D3X is three ingredients: D3, K2 as MK-7, and olive oil.
- Nothing to swallow. Take it under your tongue or stir it into coffee, a shake or yogurt. It's unflavored.
How much D3 and K2 is in each dropper?
- 2,000 IU
- vitamin D3
- 100 mcg
- vitamin K2 as MK-7
- 1 mL
- one full dropper, once a day
One full dropper (1 mL) is one daily serving: 2,000 IU (50 mcg) of vitamin D3 as cholecalciferol and 100 mcg of vitamin K2 as MK-7. No counting drops. Each 30 mL bottle holds 30 servings, so one bottle is one month.
2,000 IU is below the 4,000 IU daily upper limit for adults set by the National Academies. Ask your doctor first if you're pregnant or nursing, already take vitamin D, or take medication, especially a blood thinner, since vitamin K affects how it works.
